Grant Description
This Program Announcement provides an opportunity for states to demonstrate how the New York University Caregiver Intervention (NYUCI), Resources for Enhancing Alzheimer’s Caregiver Health Intervention (REACH II) and Savvy Caregiver Interventions, that help family caregivers of persons with Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders (ADRD), can be translated into effective programs at the community-level. This is a limited competition and applications will only be accepted from instrumentalities of state or territorial government, which includes but is not limited to State Units on Aging (SUAs). Instrumentalities of state government that are not SUAs must involve the SUA as a major partner in the planning, development and implementation of their proposed project. The Administration on Aging (AoA) plans to award approximately 6 new cooperative agreements under this program announcement, with an average federal funding level of approximately $500,000 for year one and, subject to program performance and availability of funds, approximately $250,000 for year two and approximately $250,000 for year three. Because the nature and scope of the projects will vary widely from application to application, it is anticipated that the size of each award will also vary.
