Grant Description
The results of this project will address key knowledge gaps regarding the ecological effects of recovering predator populations and address critical information needs of VOYA. Will quantify changes in avian populations attributable to bald eagle recovery, environmental variability, and bald eagle predation. Furthermore, will provide recommendations on the current avian monitoring program at VOYA by assessing the ability of various monitoring schemes to detect population changes for targeted species. Finally, will provide guidance to management staff at other NPS units on how current monitoring protocols can be modified to capture and quantify the ecological consequences of recovering predator populations.
