Grant Description
The USGS is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU partner to advance the understanding of perennial grass responses to alternative post-fire grazing management approaches for promoting resiliency in sagebrush plant communities in the Great Basin. The goals of this research are to investigate perennial grass responses to alternative post-fire grazing management approaches. It will focus on grass tiller responses and plant reproduction because they are the most important factors dictating perennial grass survival and vigor after disturbances. In addition, it will examine seedling survival and growth of recruited seedlings to determine the impact of livestock grazing on their establishment.
