Grant Description
DISASTERY RECOVERY ACT FUNDS - The US Geological Survey is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU partner to provide collaborative research for field observational studies to measure physical oceanographic and sediment transport processes, and for the development and implementation of numerical models used to hindcast and predict coastal change during Hurricane Sandy. Observational assistance is sought to measure near-bed (seafloor) bottom boundary layer sediment resuspension processes. The use of acoustic instrumentation is required, mounted on oceanographic quality tripods suitable for these studies and able to carry a number of instrumentation, and the ability to provide calibration of the acoustic equipment in a proven facility. Technical assistance with the numerical modeling is sought to provide a calibration of the model results compared to the observational data.
