Grant Description
The USGS Canyonlands Research Station (CRS) of the Southwest Biological Science Center (SBSC) is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU partner for research that continues monitoring the effects of climate manipulations in place for seven years that are just beginning to manifest, especially in biocrust organisms. By continuing these treatments there is more time for the organisms to respond and therefore greater insight into observed changes. Also, further research can elucidate the mechanisms behind biocrust mortality observed in the climate manipulation plots and results from these plots could assist improving global climate models.
