Grant Description
The US Geological Survey, Northern Rocky Mountain Science Center (NOROCK) is offering a funding opportunity to develop a short, species-specific molecular marker for New Zealand Mud Snails (NZMS) using publicly available sequence information (GenBank www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov). To maximize species specificity (i.e., to minimize a false-presence), will compare molecular markers to all available sequence data, including those of closely related species and nontarget species common to Western streams.
