Grant Description
The US Geological Survey is offering a cooperative agreement opportunity to member of the South Florida and Caribbean CESU. This opportunity is to support research to be performed for the Greater Everglades Ecosystem restoration planning and scenario evaluation. This study focuses on analysis of estuarine organisms in sediment cores to reconstruct changes in key environmental parameters over the last 100-1000 years. These analyses reconstruct the pre-anthropogenic conditions, which are used to establish targets and performance measures for the Southern Coastal Systems of the Greater Everglades.
