Grant Description
The Great Plains Landscape Conservation Cooperative (GPLCC) is an applied conservation science partnership; see http://www.greatplainslcc.org/about/ for a map of the GPLCC geographic area. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) is soliciting proposals on behalf of the GPLCC for applied scientific work to inform resource management decisions that address landscape-scale stressors to fish, wildlife, and plants of the Great Plains. Applicants are asked to read the report developed by the GPLCC Science Subcommittee that outlines the science needs that are the focus of this FY2011 funding opportunity. The report is located at: http://www.greatplainslcc.org/PDFs/GPLCC_Science_Priorities_FY2011.pdf. The science issues outlined in that report were developed utilizing a suite of umbrella species to define the science needs for larger, landscape issues associated with the habitats of the selected umbrella species.
