Grant Description

There is no "full announcement" associated with this notice, as this is a NOTICE OF INTENT to award a Cooperative Agreement between the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Wildlife Management Institute for the purpose of implementing North Atlantic Landscape Conservation Cooperative Biological Planning, Conservation Design and Evaluation. This Single Source Award is being made in accordance with Department of the Interior Policy 505 DM 2.14 B(4), which allows for award without competition to an applicant who is uniquely qualified to perform the activity based on technical expertise. This project is designed to support the overall goals of the North Atlantic Landscape Conservation Cooperative (NALCC) and to complement the Northeast Regional Conservation Needs program including projects to address needs for: 1. Biological Planning: priority species, representative species, population status population objectives, threats and limiting factors and models. 2. Conservation Design: spatial data, maps; priority areas, habitat changes from climate change, habitat changes from other major drivers, future habitat capacity, non-habitat limiting factors, decision support tools, optimal landscape designs, habitat objectives. 3. Evaluation (Monitoring and Research): outcome-based monitoring assumption-driven research, performance measures. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will be responsible for the following: Facilitation of the NALCC Steering Committee and task groups to prioritize science needs and select project categories; participation in Technical Review Teams, planning for a workshop; assist with coordination of project activities among partner agencies; and assist with coordination between the projects in the agreement and related projects through the NALCC.
