Grant Description
Funds under this award are to be used to restore/enhance instream and floodplain habitat for fish and wildlife by implementing up to five projects on Toppenish Creek, the Yakima River and on the Teanaway River and its tributaries. Project objectives include: removing artificial stream controlling structure (e.g. dikes), enhance stream to floodplain connections including side channels, and hyporheic connections, restore floodplain and channel processes, increase stream base flows, provide stream shading, floodplain roughness, future wood recruitment, enhance water quality, and restore instream, side channel, and floodplain habitats.
