Grant Description
This project will provide access by coastal cutthroat trout in 5.5 miles of high quality headwater spawning habitat and cold-water refugia will be achieved by replacing three perched culverts and constructing a step-pool fishway to provide fish access upsteam of a head cut in a bypass channel at a small dam in Bear Creek, a direct tributary to Coyote Creek in the Long Tom River basin. In addition, log jams will be placed in a 1-mile reach of the newly opened area to enhance instream habitat.
