Grant Description
Tasks to be performed under this agreement: identify or find where hibernacula are located for the recently listed, under the Endangered Species Act, northern long-eared bats (NLEB) (Myotis septentrionalis) and other bats of concern are located in the State of Nebraska. Obtain access to mines around Weeping Water and Louisville, as well as other areas in southeast Nebraska. Once access is obtained conduct surveys of mines to determine the number and condition of the mines and the condition of hibernating populations of NLEB as well as other species. Place bat detectors at key sites in northern and southern Nebraska to find suspected hibernacula. Finish data collection for the habitat selection model for NLEB in Nebraska (May _ June 2015).
