Grant Description
THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD TO A SINGLE SOURCE AND THERE IS NO FULL ANNOUCEMENT ASSOCIATED WITH THIS NOTICE. This is a notice of intent to award a Cooperative Agreement between the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and American Bird Conservancy for the purpose of providing protection, monitoring, and public engagement opportunities centered on beach-nesting bird species, such as the Least Tern (Sternula antillarum) and Snowy Plover (Charadrius alexandrinus), at BSNWR (including Little Dauphin Island/LDI) in Alabama. The activities funded via the cooperative agreement through the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill Phase II Early Restoration Plan and Environmental Review, December 2012. Final Selection: Enhanced Management of Avian Breeding Habitat Injured by Response in the Florida Panhandle, Alabama, and Mississippi. Further, the scope of this project directly relates to the mission of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's (USFWS) to protect and recover Federal Trust Species (threatened and endangered species, migratory birds, marine mammals, state listed species and species of concern, and interjurisdictional fisheries) by supporting voluntary restoration, enhancement and protection of high priority habitats.
