This Single Source Award is being awarded in accordance with Department of the Interior Policy 505 DM 2.14 B кUnique Qualificationsк, which allows for award without competition to an applicant. This recipient and project meets this criteria due to the close proximity of MSU to the Technology Center (the University is also located in Bozeman, MT), which facilitates day-to-day collaborations and communications for the overall research program and the conduct of the research experiments and associated laboratory and data analyses at the Technology Center.

Grant Description
The tasks to be performed under this agreement are as follows: a. share in the responsibilities for determining and assessing the direction of the overall research program through frequent communication and coordination with project cooperators to ensure that project requirements are met; b. provide scientific, engineering expertise in planning, experiment design, implementation, and sampling of collaborative fish passage research projects, compilation and analysis of data, and interpretation and dissemination of results; c. provide staff time for consultations on experimental design, statistical analyses, and hydraulic modeling; d. provide office space and supplies and computers for assisting with data compilation and analyses and for writing of reports and publications; e. provide staff time for conducting fish passage experiments; f. as deemed necessary, provide access to experimental hydrological flumes and other research apparatuses; and g. participate in writing progress, draft final, and final project reports and publications for scientific peer-reviewed journals.
