Applicants must be affiliated with one of the colleges or universities listed as a formal partner to the Rocky Mountains Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit. The USFWS, National Bison Range Refuge Complex, intends to award a Cooperative Agreement, initially in the amount of NTE $30,000, through the Rocky Mountains Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit (CESU). The National Bison Range has submitted a sole-source justification for the consideration and selection of the Avian Science Center at the University of Montana. In the event that the Avian Science Center is unable to perform the work, consideration will be given to others based on the criteria above. The purpose of the agreement is to develop a long-term monitoring program for landbirds at the National Bison Range Complex

Grant Description

The tasks to be performed under this agreement are as follows: 1. To provide statistical and biometric assistance with the design and writing of a long-term monitoring protocol for trends in populations of breeding landbirds and their habitats at the NBRC. 2. To explicitly link the above protocol to other major wildlife management activities on the refuge, including but not limited to bison rotational grazing systems, prescribed fire, and invasive plant species treatment. 3. To provide statistical and biometric assistance with the analysis of ecological datasets
