Grant Description
NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD TO A SINGLE-SOURCE WITHOUT COMPETITION. In accordance with Department of the Interior Guidance (505 DM 2), the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service), Southwest Region, Division of Migratory Birds hereby provides notice of its intent to make a single-source award expected to be $145,000.00 to Texas A&M University-Kingsville, Caesar Kleberg Wildlife Research Institute. This award will facilitate the cooperation of the recipient and the Service in supporting the management of Redhead ducks on National Wildlife Refuges (NWRs) in the Laguna Madre of the lower Texas coast. The objective is to determine the present and potential future impacts of wind energy farms on the distribution of wintering redheads in the Laguna Madre. Migratory birds, including the Redhead duck, are a trust resource of the Service. This project will benefit the public by providing information that will support management decisions for Redhead ducks, on NWRs of the lower Texas coast. This is not a request for proposals.
