Grant Description
This is a Notice of Intent to award a Cooperative Agreement to Ducks Unlimited for the purpose of completing activities consistent with the 2005 PPJV Implementation Plan and subsequent Plan updates. The tasks to be performed under this agreement are as follows: Monitor landscape conditions and change within PPJV region; conduct original field research on waterfowl populations; participate in biological planning, project development and implementation; and facilitate outreach and communication. (1) This Single Source Award is being made in accordance with Department of the Interior Policy 505 DM 2.14 B 1 (Continuation) which allows for award without competition to an applicant. The Prairie Pothole Joint Venture (PPJV) has a long had cooperative agreements with Ducks Unlimited, Inc. ะบ Great Plains Office, so this new agreement simply continues and expands on activities presently funded. Under past agreements, they have performed to expectations and fulfilled their reporting requirements. The PPJV has seven non-governmental organizations (ngo) on its Management Board. Without question, Ducks Unlimited is the most active and important ngo partner within the PPJV region. They have seats on both the Management Board and Technical Committees where both members are exceptionally active. Lastly, Ducks Unlimited has unique expertise, capacity, and fiscal means that are critical to the success of joint ventures goals and objectives.
