Grant Description
The USFWS is not seeking applications for this Funding Opportunity. The USFWS plans to award this grant agreement under the Department Manual 505-2, using 2.14B(1)to justify a single source award to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR). 2.14B(1) Unsolicited proposal, the proposal award is the result of an unsolicited assistance application which represents a unique or innovative idea, method or approach which is not the subject of a current or planned contract or assistance award but which is deemed adventageous to the program objectives. WDNR has opportunities for internships in wildlife and forestry research, wildlife management and endangered resources work. WDNR's work with federal partners including USFWS, USGS and USDA provides interns with varied experiences from both state and federal agency perspectives. WDNR's efforts are in alignment with the Youth in the Great Outdoors initiative's need for programs that encourage and develop young people with the appropriate skill sets and interests to become conservation professionals.
