Grant Description
THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT (NOI) TO MAKE AN AWARD. PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS POSTING. This Cooperative Agreement is being awarded without competition to the Great Basin Bird Observatory. The following tasks will be accomplished. A. Inventory the breeding bird community of the riparian areas, (b) Set up a long-term system-wide monitoring program that will measure the effectiveness of restoration measures over time, and (c) to model bird habitat as part of a geospatial decision support tool that is being created by a collaborative effort between FWS, UNR, and GBBO. B. To assist the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in working with partners involved in the restoration of the Walker River and Walker Lake to coordinate implementation, research and monitoring activities, ensure that the work is guided by common restoration vision.
