Grant Description
The Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement (INL) at the U.S. Embassy-Tbilisi is inviting project proposals from public international organizations in Georgia with the objective of reducing drug demand among vulnerable communities in Georgia, to include young adults. INL will provide funding to a public international organization to undertake a 12-month program to raise public awareness among young Georgians and other vulnerable groups about the dangers of drug use. Georgian youth and youth in minority communities, in particular, are especially at risk for drug abuse. As this project builds upon previous successful drug demand awareness projects, INL envisions this project to include an innovative public information campaign with quantifiable results. With a view toward sustainability and coordination with the Georgian Governmentмs current efforts in this field, INL would like the project proposals to outline how the program would develop a direct linkage to the work being done under the with the Government of Georgiaмs existing ЯInteragency Coordinating Council for Combating Drug Abuse.Н This project is subject to the availability of funding, up to $70,000, and each proposal must be submitted in English and include proposed measures of success. Award of the project will be based on a review of proposals to be received from public international organizations. All proposals must include a narrative of actions to be undertaken and a budget worksheet which should document the following: Administrative costs (including overhead charges if applicable), personnel costs (salaries, benefits and raises), office rental, office supplies, equipment costs (including laptops, other electronics), travel costs (airfare, lodging, other travel costs) and miscellaneous costs; however, no construction or renovation costs will be authorized under this project solicitation.
