DHS has an interest in promoting cybersecurity education in State and local government agencies and educational institutions, as well as providing a mechanism whereby cybersecurity education is available not only in the form of the formal education of students, but in the training of their teachers. Such a program is key to developing at an early stage students╔к_ interest in the cybersecurity career field to bolster the pipeline of future cybersecurity professionals- an important objective of DHS and of the President. In response, DHS is seeking to make an investment in summer camps that promote cybersecurity training and awareness for high school aged students and their teachers. By investing in high school teachers, the number of young people who will benefit from cybersecurity education and awareness will be multiplied.

Grant Description

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Cybersecurity Education Office (CEO) is seeking to make an investment in summer camps that promote cybersecurity training and awareness for high school aged students and their teachers. By investing in high school teachers, the number of young people who will benefit from cybersecurity education and awareness will be multiplied. It is well established that increasing the number of graduates to the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines is key to the success of our Nation. Further, recruitment and retention of individuals with these skills is an important element in the development of our Nation╔к_s cybersecurity workforce.
