Grant Description
Scientific Discovery through Advanced Computing: Scientific Computation Application Partnerships in Fusion Energy Science The Office of Fusion Energy Sciences (FES) and the Office of Advanced Scientific Computing Research (ASCR) of the Office of Science (SC), U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), hereby announce their interest in receiving Cooperative Agreement applications from interdisciplinary teams to the Scientific Discovery through Advanced Computing (SciDAC) program, for Scientific Computation Application Partnerships (hereafter, Partnerships) in the area of fusion energy sciences. The FES SciDAC portfolio focuses on the development and application of high physics fidelity simulation codes that can advance the fundamental science of magnetically confined plasmas by fully exploiting leadership class computing resources and contribute to the FES goal of developing the predictive capability needed for a sustainable fusion energy source. The specific areas of interest under this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) are: 1. Edge Physics 2. Multiscale Integrated Modeling, and 3. Materials Science
