Grant Description

The purpose of this announcement is to provide assistance to the Republic of Mozambique to ensure a safe and adequate blood supply as well as to develop and implement a national safe blood system with demonstrable results within the first year of the Emergency Plan. Funding through this announcement will provide support to organizations with the capacity to provide expert guidance and technical assistance to the Ministry of Health (MOH) and National Blood Service (Servico Nacional de Sangue or SeNaS) in the Republic of Mozambique. The SeNaS is currently under-staffed to carry out overall blood safety implementation in the country. This proposal seeks a technical assistance provider who can be housed with the SeNaS to carry out proper technical assistance in blood safety policy development and implementation, as well as the implementation of best practices in blood safety by the participating transfusion facilities.
