Grant Description
CDC’s Procurement and Grants Office has published a funding opportunity announcement entitled, “Prevention of HIV Transmission through Strengthening Blood Safety in the Republic of Zimbabwe under the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR).” Approximately $1,800,000 will be available in fiscal year 2010 to fund one award. The purpose of this program is to strengthen blood safety within the national framework in Zimbabwe. The primary focus is on strengthening blood donor recruitment and retention, and reduction of processing time by improving laboratory administration and diagnostic capability.
