Grant Description

The purpose of this program is to improve and expand the HIV/AIDS prevention and care capacity and activities in the Republic of Zimbabwe (GOZ) through cooperation among the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR)/CDC and a network of faith based health facilities in all ten provinces of the country. Faith Based Organizations (FBO) in Zimbabwe have health facilities that serve areas and populations that complement GOZ national health coverage. Cooperative efforts will lead to significant improvements in HIV prevention programs and management of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) as well as the provision of enhanced care for persons who are infected with HIV/AIDS and their families. Both of these are critical to assuring optimal prevention and care services in Zimbabwe. The result of this program will be scaled up access to HIV/AIDS/TB prevention and clinical care by the network of FBO health facilities in Zimbabwe.
