Grant Description
This is a supplemental funding opportunity. Eligible Applicants: National Blood Transfusion Service (NBTS)- Federal Ministry of Health (FMOH) The FMOH is the responsible body for the NBTS in Ethiopia, with regulatory, coordination, and oversight roles. Since 2010 the FMOH/NBTS has had full responsibility for blood transfusion service delivery in the country, following a period of collaboration with the Ethiopian Red Cross Society. In January 2015 a Federal Proclamation established the NBTS as a semi-autonomous agency, accountable to the FMOH. As per this Government mandate the NBTS is responsible for all blood transfusion services in Ethiopia including the regulation, coordination and oversight of blood collection, testing, storage, distribution and ensuring appropriate clinical use of blood.
