The National HIV/AIDS Programme is an entity within the Ministry of Health and has the mandate to coordinate the health-sector response for HIV/AIDS in Dominica. It is the only organization in Dominica with this mandate. It also has the mandate to provide technical support and coordination to the national health organizations.

Grant Description

The purpose of this announcement is to enhance the capacity of the Dominica Ministry of Health to fully implement its national goal to scale-up and strengthen HIV prevention, care, and treatment and related support activities. Funding resources made available through this mechanism will underwrite the following: 1) the development, revision, and updating of national policies and technical guidelines relevant to all HIV program initiatives, with a focus on the integration of prevention into care and treatment; 2) strengthening the national laboratory infrastructure and services and, 3) ensuring technical support for strategic-information activities, including the implementation of revised national protocols for HIV/TB surveillance, routine program monitoring and the strengthening of HIV case reporting.
