The RBC is the only organization of the Republic of Tajikistan that has the mandate from the Government of Tajikistan to implement and coordinate the blood safety system through the Ministry of Health (MOH). From 2010-2015 the RBC has managed the CDC Cooperative Agreement promoting blood safety in the country. The ongoing collaboration with the RBC has thus far been successful. Several activities were completed within this project during these four years, including in the following areas: promotion of Voluntary-Non Remunerated Blood Donorship (VNRBD); strategic information (SI); automation of work processes in the blood centers; and improvement of clinical use of blood. It is necessary to continue to provide technical assistance (TA) with the new project in order to scale up promotion of VNRBD activities at the national level. During the ongoing CoAg, a monitoring and evaluation (M&E) tool was developed for indicators of blood services and was piloted on the National level.
