Eligible Applicants Eligible applicants that can apply for this funding opportunity are listed below: ╔ Federally recognized American Indian Tribes and Alaska Native Villages and Corporations which meet the definition set forth in 25 U.S.C. Section 1603(d). ╔ Tribal organizations, which include Intertribal Councils and American Indian Health Boards which meet the definition set forth in 25 U.S.C. Section 1603(e) and are under a resolution that such organizations, councils, and boards represent the underlying tribes. ╔ Urban Indian Health Programs, tribal and intertribal consortia that meet the definition set forth in 25 U.S.C. Eligibility is limited to the aforementioned applicants because they have the necessary knowledge of, experience, and capability/capacity to work within AI/AN communities to perform the required activities. Grant Description
The purpose of this one year funding application is for successful applicants to: a) demonstrate that their culturally based traditional foods activities are sustainable and/or institutionalized in their respective communities; b) evaluate already established sustainable strategies and/or emerging strategies (environmental, health practice/policy, self-sustaining activities, etc.) based on continued program activities; and c) complete existing activities that would not otherwise be done because of limited time and funds.
