GDAs are a particular type of public-private partnership whereby USAID works with the private sector to tackle important business challenges and development problems - in a replicable, sustainable and scalable manner. USAID works with private sector partners to advance mutual interests while leveraging at least $1 in resources from private sector partners for every $1 USAID contributes. Prospective applicants should read the 2013 GDA APS in its entirety. As stated in APS No. APS-OAA-13-000003, USAID expects to receive alliance proposals that leverage private sector resources at a minimum of 1:1. Proposals that do not leverage private sector resources of at least an equal amount to what is requested will not be considered under this announcement. (See also Appendix I of the 2013 GDA APS).

Grant Description
This program is authorized in accordance with Part 1 of the Foreign Assistance act of 1961, as amended. Through this Addendum to the FY 2013 Global Development Alliance (GDA) Annual Program Statement (APS) No.APS-OAA-13-000003 (the GDA APS), USAID/Senegal is making a special call for the submission of Concept Papers for specific activities related to the Missionуs Feed the Future (FTF) goals: to sustainably reduce poverty and hunger, to improve equitable growth in the agricultural sector, and to improve the nutritional status of the Senegalese people. The priority emphasis under this Addendum is on agriculture driven economic growth including productivity increases through a value chain approach. Applicants should ensure that proposals are aligned with USAID/Senegalуs Feed the Future priorities, in particular focusing on irrigated rice in the North, rain-fed rice in the South, maize, and/or millet as described in the Senegal FY 2010 Implementation Plan and Senegal FY 2011-2015 Multi-Year Strategy: Unless otherwise specifically stated herein, all terms and conditions of the GDA APS # OAA-685-13-000003 FY13 apply.
