Grant Description
Funding is available through the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) Anadromous Fish Restoration Program (AFRP) to develop information that will help manage and conserve white sturgeon (Acipenser transmontanus) and green sturgeon (Acipenser medirostris) that inhabit the Sacramento-San Joaquin Bay-Delta in California. Specifically, funding is available to: determine the effects of contaminants on growth and reproductive success; study the effects of several methods of fin ray removal on growth and survival; and develop current age and growth information and compare that to results from other studies. Submissions should include the following: 1)a proposed study design; 2)a description of the proposed methodology and feasibility (technical and permitting); 3)a proposed budget, split by task and year; 4)a timeline based on funding being available on or before August 2011; 5)expected deliverables, including a final report, digital data set, photos, and permit copies; 6)any cost share or in-kind and the expected amount and source; and 7)information to demonstrate the applicants ability to design and implement the study including similar previous projects
