There is not an application process for the Mill Creek Spring Chinook Salmon Hydoracoustic Study project. This is a notice of intent to award LGL Northwest Research Associates a grant up to $16,500 under justification 505 DM 2.14 (B2). The Central Valley Project Improvement Act (CVPIA; Title 34 of Public Law 102-575, Section 3406(b)(1)) authorizes and directs the Secretary of the DOI, in consultation with other State and Federal agencies, Indian tribes, and affected interests, to develop and implement a program which makes all reasonable efforts to at least double natural production of anadromous fish in Central Valley rivers and streams. LGL Northwest Research Associates was recently under agreement and has collected fish passage data for the Mill Creek Hydroacoustic Study. The project to be funded is data analysis and writing the final report. LGL Northwest Research Associates is intimately familiar with the data collection techniques and fish target specifics; therefore LGL Northwest Research Associates will provide project continuity to successfully complete the data analysis and write the final report. This project is to collect fish population data without handling fish on Mill Creek, a tributary to the Sacramento River near Los Molinos, CA.
