Grant Description
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) desires to work with a vendor able to assist with the development of vegetation classification for vegetation mapping in Nevada. The project will include the development of a vegetation classification following the National Vegetation Classification System (NVCS) based on field data. The project will also include the development of a vegetation map from aerial photography and the vegetation classification developed. Substantial involvement on the part of the USFWS is anticipated for the successful completion of the funded project objectives. The USFWS will work jointly on the development of the classification system and the translation of the classification into vegetation units that can be mapped. The USFWS will also be responsible for developing the vegetation polygons from photointerpretation of available aerial photography. The USFWS will lead the development of the quality control/qualify assurance and map accuracy process developed for the vegetation mapping. The award of contracts, modifications, or chage orders and performance of all work on projects shall be exclusively within the control of the Government.
