Grant Description
A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD is issued by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to the University of Hawaii according to 505 2.14 (1) (see the attached Notice of Intent to Award). NO COMPETITION IS EXPECTED •À_ PLEASE DO NOT APPLY FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY. The Unviersity of Hawaii will provide an Invasive Ant Strike Team Technician who will work at a 9-month field camp to assist in eradication of the invasive ant. Duties performed by this technician: 1) in Honolulu; packing and preparing gear, food, and all items necessary for the camp; and 2) on-island include; maintaining pesticide bait stations, monitoring and enforcement of quarantine measures, monitoring ant and bird populations, bike and camp maintenance. The technician will be responsible for the oversight of volunteers assisting with the ant eradication project. A manuscript that could form the basis of a technical report will be drafted.
