Grant Description
The U.S. Geological Survey, Western Fisheries Research Center, Columbia River Research Laboratory, is offering a funding opportunity to facilitate a project that will 1) lead to the development of an oligo-microarray for largescale suckers and 2) test the cross-reactivity of the microarray to other sucker species. The goal is to conduct this project collaboratively with the assistance of recipient who will work cooperatively to design, implement, analyze, and report the findings of the studies. Specifically, complete reports and/or peer reviewed publications that will be jointly co-authored by recipient and the Columbia River Research Laboratory staff. Furthermore, the resulting microarray will be available for the cooperators and others to use in conducting studies of factors influencing gene expression in a variety of sucker species.
