Grant Description

The goal of this project is to promote and apply the principles of Structured Decision Making (SDM) and Adaptive Resource Management (ARM) to actual resource problems selected in consultation with CRU and their state cooperators. This project will satisfy a key strategic goal– to improve the nexus of science and management with state and federal cooperators. Success in this key strategic initiative requires thorough and complete understanding of the research and information needs of state and federal biologists and managers, broad authoritative knowledge and experience with natural resource and biological issues, and full understanding and experience of the shared governance nature of CRU program operations with its state and federal cooperators. The objectives include developing up to 4 workshops per year for 2 years to address at a minimum 2 resource issues per workshop. Tasks through consultation include development of workshop goals/objectives, identifying the resource problems to be addressed, develop website and instructional materials specific to each workshop and provide post workshop summary assessment. In addition to workshops, significant consultation and strategic objective setting activities will be employed to meld the outcome of specific natural resource problem based workshops with the larger CRU programmatic strategic enterprise.
