Grant Description

This funding offers the opportunity for a recipient institution to partner with the USGS National Wildlife Health Center (NWHC and the National Biological Information Infrastructure(NBII) to provide research support and technical assistance for the NBII Wildlife Disease Information Node. This institution will provide administrative, information management, and information technology personnel to create information and data products, in collaboration with subject experts from the NWHC' Specifically, the recipient will: • Research and select media resources for the WDIN Wildlife Disease News Digest/Global Wildlife Disease News Map • Produce bimonthly editions of WDIN Highlights • Research, select and catalog web resources for the WDIN website and NBII portal • Work with existing WDIN partners and collaborators on development of new productions, as well as identify potential new partnerships. • Work with the staff of EcoHealth101.org, to create new contact and tools for the website. • Provide programming for development and enhancement of the infrastructure tools for the WDIN Wildlife Health Monitoring Network. • Present WDIN products and research at meetings of professional societies, as well as work to make these accessible to the public.
