Grant Description
The Utah Water Science Center is specifically looking for collaborative opportunities with University researchers who have expertise in determining the mechanisms, processes, and pathways controlling the fate and transport of salinity generated from rangelands and natural landscapes in watersheds in the Upper Colorado River Basin. Research is needed to develop conceptual models of salinity generation from non-irrigated geologic units and transport to streams from rangelands. Conceptual models of salinity generation from rangelands and data from watersheds that are predominately rangeland need to be incorporated into a SPARROW model to assess significance of rangelands and rangeland management practices in the generation of salinity.
