Grant Description

The U.S. Embassy Santo Domingo Public Affairs Section is located at the U.S. Embassy in Santo Domingo. More information about the Public Affairs Section and its Grants Program can be found at: http://santodomingo.usembassy.gov/publicaffairs.html The U.S. Embassy Santo Domingo Public Affairs Section (PAS) of the U.S. Department of State is pleased to announce that limited funding is available through the Embassyмs Public Affairs Small Grants program to support activities that promote U.S.-Dominican bilateral relations in the following five priority areas: 1)Entrepreneurship, economic prosperity and/or Climate Change programs maximizing economic growth, targeting youth and underserved communities. 2)Human rights programs including and not limited to: gender based violence and girlмs empowerment, LBGT issues, people with disabilities, migrant issues and labor rights. Presented programs should be targeting youth and underserved communities. 3)Fortification of English teaching through English teacher training and expansion of English programs to at-risk communities. 4)Programs that address the capacity of Dominican institutions to improve citizen security, confront public sector corruption, and support democratic governance. 5) Academic and Cultural exchange promotion and enhancing understanding of the shared history, traditions, and values between the United States and the Dominican Republic. Please follow all instructions below carefully: Eligibility is limited to those who qualify to receive U.S. grants, and have the ability to develop and implement their proposed programs in the Dominican Republic. The U.S. Embassy in Santo Domingo and the Department of State encourage organizations that have not previously received international program funding from the U.S. Government to apply under this announcement. Applicants must have a demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following subject areas: people-to-people exchanges, cultural or academic programming, international cooperation, and institution-to-institution partnerships.
