Grant Description

United States Department of the Interior National Park Service (NPS) Notice of Intent to Award. This funding announcement is to provide public notice of the NPS's intention to fund the following project activities without full and open competition by Task Agreement J1792100001 under Cooperative Agreement H1792100002 with the Cooperator Hudson River Valley Greenway Communities Council and Greenway Heritage Conservancy HRV, Inc. The Hudson River Valley National Heritage Area was authorized by Congress in 1996 through the Hudson River Valley National Heritage Area Act, P. L. 104-333. The management entities for the Heritage Area are the Hudson River Valley Greenway Communities Council and the Greenway Conservancy, which jointly manage the Heritage Area through a Heritage Area Committee. Congress directed the management entities to develop a management plan for the Heritage Area. The management entities may, for purposes of preparing and implementing the management plan, use Federal funds to make loans and grants to, and enter into cooperative agreements with, States and their political subdivisions, private organizations, or any person; and to hire and compensate staff. The management entities may not use Federal funds received under the authorizing Act to acquire real property or an interest in real property. The duties of the management entities are to develop and implement a management plan, and to work with governmental, business, and nonprofit groups within the Heritage Area. The NPS intends to provide fiancial assistance for the Hudson Valley National Heritage Area program in the amount of $524,000.00.
